Obychnoe Delo. Inclusive Workshops

Branding

“Obychnoe Delo” is a nonprofit organization that helps teenagers and young adults with intellectual disabilities adapt to everyday life and feel more confident and independent. The team teaches them how to navigate social situations—interacting with people, shopping, as well as learning crafts and developing manual skills. The organization reached out to us to refresh its visual identity—to make it more precise and clear in expressing its mission, as well as to strengthen its public image among its clients, partners, colleagues, and the media.

We created a visual identity that highlights the professionalism of “Obychnoe Delo” and shapes the image of a modern, mature, and sustainable organization. At the same time, it was important for us to preserve the sense of a living process where the participants’ work is taken seriously. The visual language is based on a combination of photography and hand-drawn graphics. Together, they create a collage effect, symbolizing the multifaceted nature of the workshops and the adaptability of the processes.

In the logo, the name “Obychnoe Delo” has been transformed into the simple abbreviation OD. A slight typographic offset adds expressiveness to the logo and reinforces the key metaphor of collage. The rough texture of the paper makes the logo more tactile, adding a sense of handcrafted quality.

The photographic style centers on real work—from working with materials to the finished product. The images feature lively, natural portraits in motion. The scenes of workers convey focus and collaboration, capturing the essence of authentic labor within the calm, bright atmosphere of the workshop.

We used ONY ONE as the brand font — a versatile and functional typeface. Understated and precise, it helps build clear and consistent communication while ensuring high readability.

The created style is adapted for various communication channels — from packaging and product catalogs to social media and other media. It presents “Obychnoe Delo” as a professional and open organization founded on respect, support, and development. The “Obychnoe Delo” project is an example of how a brand identity helps convey an organization’s work with dignity, making it understandable and appealing to the public and partners.
